Recommendations for players who CONSISTENTLY hit their 7-iron:

    • Ladies: Less than 120 yards.
    • Senior: 120-135 yards.
    • Regular: 135-155 yards. Most common flex.
    • Stiff: 155-175 yards.
    • Extra Stiff: 175 yards or more.

    Great clubs

"Switching from the 0211 Gen 2s to the 0311 Gen 8s has completely improved my game. The fitting process and overall quality of these clubs truly made a noticeable difference. The craftsmanship and performance exceeded all my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier with the upgrade. I would highly recommend these clubs to anyone looking to take their game to the next level."

    Absolutely love my new irons,

"Absolutely love my new irons, I'm hitting them great. They took a little bit to get use to, but my game is definitely more consistent now. The fitting process at the Troy, Mi store was also amazing. I recommend everyone to go and get a fitted."

    NICHOLAS E. (5/5)

    Irons have worked well without

"Irons have worked well without issue. They did not require a breaking in period as these irons employ graphite shafts ,not the steel that I had used for years. (Father Time is undefeated as they say). This is my 2nd set of PXG irons. I couldn’t be happier with the fitting experience-Jessica was a big help getting me into the right club details."

Gen 8 is the best yet

"I’m a 14 index 74 years old, driver ss about 90, 7i=150. This is my 4th set of PXGs. Had the 0211, Gen 3 0311P and was fitted for Gen 6. I’m basically within 1/2 degree of standard length and lie. I had strayed to the Callaway Ai300, but just wasn’t satisfied with the results. Decided to go back to PXG Gen 8 0311P in dark finish for something different. Regular flex MMT shafts. These are the straightest clubs I’ve ever hit, and the trajectory is very controllable. Played yesterday in 30mph gusts. Was able to keep the flight down but still get the distance. After 4 rounds, I’m loving these clubs. Beautiful and functional."

    Steverino74 (5/5)

    The club has a solid

"The club has a solid feel. I did not mark it as a 5 star b/c I’ve only hit the clubs a few times and the face already has a few scratches from hitting balls. I would have expected to see scratches on the face of the club after a couple of years but not the first couple of outings."

    Matthew K. (4/5)

    Mike Fox was great to

"Mike Fox was great to work with. So far I’m happy with the Gen 8’s. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t change the weights back to their original weighting because the people at Mesa store couldn’t remove the weights."

    Gary g. (5/5)

    Amazing technology

"3 rounds and getting use to these irons. Distance and accuracy are amazing. And when struck out of the middle I can’t believe the flight and feel. More greens in regulation is much easier. Last round I only used the irons leaving my driver and fairway woods in the car. Th guys thought I was crazy. I played the best round I ever had. Soon going after the Lightning driver and fairway woods."

    Kevin W. (5/5)

    Step up from Black Ops

"Gabe my fitter did a super job. I’m still playing injured, but man these clubs swing so nice. Can’t wait to see how I score when I’m fully healed. People watch what I buy and I can usually get friends to follow my lead. Thanks PXG Staff. Job well done 👍"

    Iron review

"In the midwest the weather has been just getting better now so I have only tried the irons a few times which feel very nice. The launch seems higher and have gained a little extra distance which is great. I ordered mid-size grips and accepted the PXG brand but I assure you these are not mid-size - they are standard size even though the order reads mid-size. I had mid-size Golf Pride on my old irons which quite honestly I like much better, not to be critical. I would never replace these with PXG grips again. Everything else is fine."

    Lou O. (5/5)

    After 20 years playing Titleist

"After 20 years playing Titleist muscle back blades I went to a PXG fitting and walked away with a whole new bag of clubs. These irons have added 10+ yards to distance and are more forgiving on mishits. I can still manipulate flight and shape sufficiently and their look and feel inspires confidence. I was quickly able to put them in play on the course and the performance has resulted in a more consistent game. These are definitely an upgrade for me from what were already one of the best clubs in the market."

    Q&A

    PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron FAQS

Who should play the PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron?

The PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron is built for golfers seeking a performance-driven option that delivers distance, control, and versatility. It is ideal for players looking for a reliable alternative to long irons or hybrids while maintaining a penetrating, controlled ball flight.

What is the difference between a driving iron and a hybrid?

Driving irons feature a more compact profile, minimal offset, and a lower, more forward CG to produce a penetrating trajectory with greater workability. Hybrids typically have a larger head and deeper CG for higher launch and added forgiveness. The PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron blends iron-like control with added stability and speed.

Can the PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron be used off the tee and from the fairway?

Yes. The PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron is engineered to perform from multiple lies, including the tee, fairway, and light rough. Its wide, forgiving sole and optimized CG promote consistent contact and reliable launch across conditions.

Can the PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron be adjusted for loft and lie?

Yes. The PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron can be bent up to 2 degrees stronger or weaker, allowing it to play as a 1-iron or 3-iron equivalent. It is 5 X forged from 8620 carbon steel, enabling precise bending while maintaining durability, feel, and performance integrity. A professional fitting is recommended to ensure optimal setup.

How does the PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron impact launch and spin?

Advanced face construction and precise CG placement deliver a mid-to-low launch with controlled spin. This creates a strong, penetrating ball flight with consistent distance and tight dispersion.

    What shaft options are available?

PXG offers a wide range of premium shaft options in multiple flexes to match swing speed, launch preferences, and ball flight goals. A custom fitting ensures optimal performance.

Is a professional fitting recommended for a driving iron?

Yes. A professional PXG fitting is strongly recommended. Dialing in the correct loft, lie, shaft, and weighting unlocks the full performance potential of the PXG 0311 X GEN8 Driving Iron and ensures consistent results.
