Bob & Renee Parsons Open the Gates to their Exclusive Desert Property to Accommodate Prestigious Service Academy Golf Tournament

Scottsdale, AZ (October 11, 2024) – Scottsdale National Golf Club® in Scottsdale, Arizona, made a game-changing gesture by offering its world-class private courses to host the prestigious annual Commander-in-Chief’s CupTM presented by Callaway®. This act of goodwill came in the turmoil of the impending Hurricane Milton, which threatened to disrupt the tournament’s original venue, the Seminole Golf ClubTM in Juno Beach, Florida.

The Commander-in-Chief’s Cup is a highly anticipated event that showcases the talents of collegiate golf teams from the United States Military Academy® (USMA), the United States Naval Academy® (USNA), and the United States Air Force Academy® (USAFA). In light of the impending storm, the tournament organizers faced the daunting task of finding a new, safe location to accommodate these esteemed service academy golf teams on extremely short notice.

Upon being made aware of the situation, PXG Founder and U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran Bob Parsons offered the use of his exclusive desert property at Scottsdale National Golf Club to ensure that the tournament could proceed without disruption.

“Earlier this week, when we realized we needed an alternate course to host this year’s Commander-in-Chief’s Cup, Bob Parsons was our first call,” said Billy Hurley, CIC Cup Board Member, United States Naval Academy Class of 2004 and PGA TOUR winner. “Within 36 hours of our initial contact, he confirmed that Scottsdale National would be our new venue. We are incredibly grateful to Bob and Renee Parsons, as well as the entire Scottsdale National membership and staff, for rolling out the red carpet for our service academy student-athletes. The Other Course will provide a terrific test of golf, and we look forward to seeing who takes home the CIC Cup on Tuesday.”

The Parsons have long supported all three schools’ golf programs through PXG, offering valuable resources and custom-fitted equipment to the dedicated players. As such, the opportunity to step up in the throes of a potential disaster was an easy decision.

“I have the utmost respect for Chip Brewer and Callaway for their support of this marquee event. Years ago, at the beginning of the Covid virus pandemic, Chip Brewer stepped up to offer PXG the use of Callaway’s tour truck.  I’ve never forgotten that. That made helping Chip and Callaway an easy decision,” Bob Parsons said. “I also admire these student athletes tremendously for their commitment to golf, school, and serving our country. When I heard that the tournament needed to be moved and Chip was the man behind the event, it was an easy decision to open the gates at Scottsdale National. Chip, if there’s a better man than you anywhere, I’ve yet to meet him.”

Renee Parsons, President & Executive Creative Director for PXG Apparel and hospitality lead at Scottsdale National Golf Club, added, “We are honored to provide an exceptional playing experience for these young golfers and introduce them to the outstanding hospitality that Scottsdale National is known for.”

The tournament participants will have the unprecedented opportunity to showcase their skills on The Other Course at Scottsdale National Golf Club, a challenging track designed by Jackson Kahn Design. (You read it right, Scottsdale National’s signature golf course is indeed named The Other Course.) This course features a unique layout with six par-3, six par-4, and six par-5 configurations, offering the players a diverse and thrilling golfing experience.

Bob and Renee Parsons’ commitment to supporting the military and first responder golf community extends far beyond hosting the prestigious golf event and their support for the service academies. In 2018, they established the PXG for Heroes® program, which provides special pricing and exceptional experiences to members of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, as well as to law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs. Since its inception, this program has positively impacted hundreds of thousands of verified heroes in their pursuit of lower scores and increased enjoyment of the game.

Continuing their mission to support and honor those who make significant contributions to society, the Parsons recently announced the expansion of the PXG for Heroes program to include teachers. This expansion recognizes the invaluable role that educators play in shaping the future and will provide them with the same access to special pricing and outstanding experiences as a token of appreciation for their dedication to inspiring our nation’s youth and young adults.

Military, Veterans, and First Responders to Gain Early Access to Meticulously Crafted New PXG Players, Players Distance, and Game Improvement Irons & New 100% Milled Wedges

Scottsdale, AZ (July 29, 2024)—PXG today confirmed the upcoming release of three new marquee products: PXG® 0311® GEN7 Irons, PXG Black Ops® Irons, and PXG Sugar Daddy® III Wedges. The game-changing lineup, which features technology and performance taken to the limit, will officially deploy on August 7, 2024.

As PXG prepares to launch the new golf clubs, the company is doubling down on its commitment to heroes by continuing its heroes-first tradition. The game-changing new clubs will be immediately available to all current and past military personnel, veterans, and first responders ahead of the public launch.

“We are always looking for ways to acknowledge and show appreciation for our military and first responders,” PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons stated. “These new clubs are simply outstanding – the greatest leap forward in technology and performance we’ve ever made. Ahead of the launch, we are proud to give our heroes the first crack at swinging them!”

ONE: PXG 0311 GEN7 Irons

PXG 0311 GEN7 Irons, ten years in the making, push the coefficient of restitution (C.O.R.) to the USGA limit to deliver the longest, best feeling, most forgiving irons in PXG’s history. PXG 0311 P® GEN7 Irons are engineered to deliver an ideal balance of workability and forgiveness. While PXG 0311 XP® GEN7 Irons are designed for extreme distance performance and excellent forgiveness.

TWO: PXG Black Ops Irons

PXG Black Ops Drivers and Metal Woods are complimented by a brand-new game-improvement offering, PXG Black Ops Irons. Black Ops Irons perform exceptionally well for a wide variety of players. High strength maraging steel technology allows the face geometry to be extremely thin. Combined with PXG’s proprietary core, the combo generates a feel that is better than forged, provides superior forgiveness, and explosive ball speed.

THREE: PXG Sugar Daddy Wedges

PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy III Wedges round out the new offering. Artfully engineered for versatility and accuracy across all playing conditions, these three-times forged and 100% CNC milled wedges feature three innovative sole designs to allow players to find their ideal fit.

Fire in the Hole! offers an unflinching, yet inspirational, account of Bob Parsons’ humble upbringing to his meteoric rise as one of early tech’s pioneers

NEW YORK, May 7, 2024 – GoDaddy, PXG, and YAM Worldwide founder Bob Parsons today made his literary debut with the release of his first book, FIRE IN THE HOLE! THE UNTOLD STORY OF MY TRAUMATIC LIFE AND EXPLOSIVE SUCCESS (May 7; Forefront Books). For all those who think they know this American entrepreneur and philanthropist, the book is filled with untold tales and revelations from an optimist who dreamed big and imagined all that was possible – even if the cards seemed stacked against him. The book is now available through all major retailers.

“It is honest, hilarious, outrageous and raw. This is a story of how I started with absolutely nothing and made over $3 billion,” said Bob Parsons, who is embarking on a national book tour that will bring him through several major U.S. cities, including New York, Dallas, and Chicago.

A descendant of coal miners, Parsons grew up in the 1950s in a blue-collar, working-class neighborhood in East Baltimore. His early experiences reveal an innate resiliency that got him through a harrowing tour of duty in Vietnam as a United States Marine and the early years at his first company, Parsons Technology. The book goes on to share the bold business decisions that would eventually make him one of the wealthiest people in the world, with a net worth of $3.6 billion according to the Forbes 400 2023 list of the richest people in America.

“As the title of this book, Fire in the Hole! suggests, Bob has dodged a lot of grenades in life, but it was more than luck that led him to where he is today,” Carlton W. Kent, 16th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, stated. “Bob’s story touched me personally, and I enthusiastically recommend this book to others to gain insight on their own personal journey to reaching success in life.”

Parsons also delves into his experience with PTSD, brought on by early childhood trauma and his combat duty in Vietnam, and the efforts he has made to treat it with novel therapeutic uses of psychedelics, including psilocybin, which finally brought him “home.” This is particularly timely, given recent efforts to gain FDA approval for the use of the drug MDMA, and the efforts of several states, including California, to legalize psychedelic therapy. Parsons recently testified in his home state of Arizona in support of the legalization of psychedelic-assisted therapy. He has also donated millions to research and therapist training in this area.

In addition to his business success, Parsons writes about his shift toward philanthropy in 2012, when he and his wife Renee established The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation to reach low-income and underserved populations, marginalized communities, and causes often overlooked or underfunded by mainstream philanthropy. The Foundation focuses on the areas of youth and education, health and home, military and first responders, and the American dream. Since inception, the foundation has donated more than $300 million to 96 charities.

He’s an everyman who has made it. He’s authentic. And his reflections on life, business, and giving back are heartbreaking, heartwarming, humorous, and inspiring.

“Bob Parsons is an American original. He is a visionary and inspiration and has the stories to prove it. Fire in the Hole! is as interesting and outrageous as the man himself,” actor, producer and author Rob Lowe concluded.

GOLF+ Invites Golfers to Step onto the Virtual Course with Just Released PXG 0311 GEN6 Golf Clubs

Scottsdale, AZ (March 27, 2023) – New PXG GEN6 Golf Clubs have launched simultaneously in real life and virtual reality. Through an innovative partnership, PXG’s new flagship line of blazing fast, beyond forgiving, and beautifully made golf clubs are now available in GOLF+, the ultimate virtual reality (VR) golf experience and the exclusive VR Golf game of the PGA TOUR developed by Golf Scope Inc.

“We are thrilled that GOLF+ will be the first VR platform to feature the highly-anticipated PXG GEN6 golf clubs on the same day as their real-world release. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, our virtual environment provides an immersive and accessible way to experience the latest groundbreaking release from the PXG team,” said GOLF+ president James Wright.

The exciting collaboration expands the opportunity for golfers to experience and enjoy PXG’s new technology. PXG customers who purchase GEN6 Golf Clubs will enjoy complimentary access to the GEN6 lineup, while gamers can redeem tokens to buy the new high-performance clubs in the VR game.

PXG Chief Product Officer Brad Schweigert shared, “it is very cool to see our club designs come to life in VR! The entire GOLF+ environment feels incredibly lifelike, and I am very impressed with the amount of detail and realistic look of our PXG GEN6 Golf Clubs. The VR game is loads of fun, which pairs perfectly with our mission to help increase people’s enjoyment of golf on and off the course.”

To celebrate the launch of PXG GEN6 Golf Clubs, GOLF+ is hosting a weeklong digital challenge for Meta Quest 2 users starting today, March 27, 2023. The challenge consists of nine non-traditional Par 3 layouts, taking players through their entire bag from Pitching Wedge through Driver on iconic courses including TPC Scottsdale and Sawgrass. The top 26 finishers (26 signifying the 26th Marine Corps Regiment that PXG founder Bob Parsons served with during the Vietnam War) will receive a full set of GEN6 Golf Clubs in the game, and the overall winner will receive a custom fitting and full set of PXG 0311 GEN6 Golf Clubs for on-course play.

PXG 0311 GEN6 Irons

PXG GEN6 Irons – available in Players (P) and Xtreme Performance (XP) models – are the longest, most forgiving irons PXG has ever released. PXG 0311 PÒ GEN6 Irons provide an ideal balance of workability and forgiveness. These irons, designed for low to mid-handicap players, feature moderate offset and a mid-size head design with a clean aesthetic. Designed for mid to high-handicap players, PXG 0311 XPÒ GEN6 Irons feature a larger head with more offset to deliver an incredibly soft feel, extreme distance performance, and excellent forgiveness.

PXG 0311 GEN6 Drivers

Engineered to deliver incredible forgiveness, maximum distance, and tight dispersion, PXG 0311 GEN6 Drivers are available in two models to suit golfers at all levels. The 0311 GEN6 Driver features a traditional teardrop head shape with a notably curved crown structure and a shorter body from front to back. The tall/deep clubface is designed to support excellent mishit performance, especially on higher face impacts. The 0311 XFÒ GEN6 Driver has a larger head profile and a more symmetrical shape than its counterpart. This makes it easier to square the face at impact, delivering the ideal blend of distance and forgiveness.

PXG 0311 GEN6 Fairways

PXG 0311 GEN6 Fairways have an innovative low profile with a flat sole suitable for players of all abilities. These easy-to-launch fairways provide maximum distance, tight dispersion off the tee or turf, and a fantastic sound and feel. PXG 0311 XF GEN6 Fairways are engineered for golfers seeking maximum forgiveness. The large, squared face expands the hitting zone to provide off-center hit forgiveness leading to faster ball speeds with greater distance. The Railed Sole helps the club move effortlessly through the turf so golfers can get the ball up in the air and down the fairway.

Today, the American company has grown its footprint to have global influence, serving golfers in more than 50 countries through an innovative direct-to-consumer model.

“Being recognized by Inc. Magazine is not an honor we take lightly. It is one we work hard to achieve by focusing on being better every day in every aspect of our business,” Bob Parsons stated. “Our team’s commitment to creating exceptional products and our customer’s enthusiasm for the experience we deliver is the reason for the success we have experienced. And I think it is safe to say we’re just getting started.”

PXG entered what was a saturated market in 2013, at a time when participation in golf was on the decline. But Bob Parsons saw a unique opportunity to change the approach to golf club research and development, dissolving both product release cycles and limitations to resources, for the benefit of consumers. By 2019 the company made its debut on the Inc. 5000, and in 2022, PXG secured its third recognition.

The companies on the 2022 Inc. 5000 list have not only been successful but have also demonstrated resilience amid supply chain woes, labor shortages, and the ongoing impact of COVID-19. With the foresight to stay the course and the decision to triple down on inventory, PXG experienced rapid expansion both domestically and internationally – custom building and shipping millions of golf clubs in record time.

PXG also dramatically expanded its apparel offerings under the direction of Renee Parsons. As President and Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel, Renee Parsons built a top-caliber team, from design and sourcing to distribution and analytics to fuel growth.

“We are paving our own unique path in golf and fashion. By fusing performance, comfort, and style into all we do, PXG is designing and producing pieces that fill a void we saw in the golf apparel industry. Early adoption has exceeded our expectations, and I am excited to continue evolving and creating in this space,” said Renee Parsons.

“The accomplishment of building one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., in light of recent economic roadblocks, cannot be overstated,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Inc. is thrilled to honor the companies that have established themselves through innovation, hard work, and rising to the challenges of today.”

The series premieres on YouTube on Thursday, August 18, 2022, with new episodes airing every Thursday for six weeks. Guests include NFL players, golf broadcasters, military veterans, PXG customers, and more.

On his relationship with PXG, Riggle shared, “I love golf. I love PXG. I love playing golf with PXG!”

As an avid golf enthusiast, Riggle fell in love with the sport at the age of 12 after hitting a bucket of balls with his mom’s clubs. He currently hosts the extreme miniature golf game show Holey Moley on ABC but is best known for his roles in The Hangover21 & 22 Jump StreetDumb and Dumber ToThe Other GuysLet’s Be Cops, and Step Brothers; as well as his work on Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show.

The personalized fitting experience and an impressive first round on the golf course made PXG a mainstay in Riggle’s golf bag. Over the years, PXG has supported Riggle’s annual charity InVETational Golf Tournament. And later, Riggle accepted an invitation to participate in the PXG College Golf Showcase as Team Semper Fi & America’s Fund captain.

So, what’s In Rob Riggle’s bag?

“I knew I could count on Bob Parsons to deliver the goods! He’s a fellow Marine after all,” Riggle stated. “When my PXG clubs arrived in that awesome black box, I knew things were about to improve. Collaborating with PXG is the best break my golf game has ever received.”

DETROIT (July 27, 2022) – PXG, an innovative golf company dedicated to developing high-performance equipment and apparel, partnered with DAPCEP (Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program) and Rocket Mortgage to provide 24 local high school students with a first-hand look at the STEM fields associated with golf. Hosted at PXG Detroit in Troy, the PXG Detroit STEM Experience included four interactive experiments developed and led by PXG Engineers and Fitting Specialists. Activities ranged from measuring smash factor and solving C.O.R to a putting challenge and getting the chance to swing away in the TrackMan golf simulator.

“At our core, PXG is a research and development company with a passion for golf. That passion motivates us to be an advocate for innovation and to help advance the game,” said PXG Chief Product Officer Brad Schweigert. “This partnership has been a fun opportunity to introduce students, who have an appetite for STEM, to some of the amazing career opportunities in golf and get them excited about the game.”

DAPCEP is an educational 501c3 organization providing high-quality and standards-aligned science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programming to youth in metropolitan Detroit. Both PXG and DAPCEP are dedicated to the fact that the future workplace is diverse and reflects the unique strengths of people from a wide array of backgrounds and communities, particularly the Detroit Metropolitan Area.

“This partnership with PXG has been absolutely amazing and such a great opportunity for our students to not only learn about a sport, but the science behind it and how they can apply STEM concepts to the game,” said Michelle Reaves, Executive Director of DAPCEP. “We want to provide exposure points for our students to learn about careers that they haven’t necessarily thought of before and this is absolutely one of those times.”

DAPCEP’s mission aligns well with the values of PXG, an active participant in the national #MakeGolfYourThing movement. These values include promoting research and development, advancing the game, and changing the way people think about golf. Through today’s program, PXG immersed itself in the Detroit community by creating a fun, inclusive and educational way to grow the game among Detroit’s youth, breaking down barriers and making golf approachable for both existing golfers and those who are open to learning the game.

Following the experience at PXG Detroit, the group traveled to Detroit Golf Club as special guests of Rocket Mortgage. There, from the comfort of the 18th Green Hospitality Chalet, students were able to witness the science of golf executed in a real-life setting during the Delta Dental Pro-Am. As an extra treat, NFL Hall of Fame running back and Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders stopped in during his round for a quick meet-and-greet and autograph session with the students. Rocket Mortgage also gifted each student two tickets to return to the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic later in the week to watch the PGA Pros put their STEM and athletic skills to the test on the course.

“After having this experience, I now have a better idea of the type of engineering I’m interested in,” said rising 12th grader and DAPCEP student Jasmyn Harris. “I want to thank PXG and DAPCEP for having all of us come in for such an amazing opportunity to learn more about the sport and make new friends.”

PXG Detroit, opened in December 2021, is one of the company’s 16 brick-and-mortar retail stores and encompasses 7,843 square feet with three spacious fitting bays fully equipped with state-of-the-art TrackMan technology, a 390 square-foot putter fitting studio, and a 185 square-foot practice green.

PXG is dedicated to developing the world’s finest golf equipment and apparel and ensuring the future of golf is open to everyone. Learn more by following @pxg on social or visit www.PXG.com.

With the 2022 release of PXG 0311 GEN5 Irons, PXG has raised the bar and set the benchmark for all other irons – again. Since its inception in 2014, PXG has disrupted the world of golf with its relentless pursuit and success in developing industry-leading golf club technology.

GEN5 Irons are available in three impressive head shapes, XP (Xtreme Performance)P (Players), and T (Tour).

Matt Adams, Fairways of Life Podcast Host, discusses the new product and breaks down the incredible technology and benefits of each new GEN5 Iron model.

PXG 0311 XP GEN5 IRONS

PXG 0311 P GEN5 IRONS

PXG 0311 T GEN5 IRONS

GEN5 Irons employ various breakthrough technologies.

ABOUT XCOR2 TECHNOLOGY

It’s the inside that counts. And with PXG golf irons, that statement rings true! A result of years of research and development, XCOR2 is PXG’s revolutionary polymer core material, designed specifically for GEN5 Irons.

Extremely lightweight, XCOR2 helps reduce the mass of the core by 6-8 grams. This enables more weight to be positioned low and to the perimeter of the backside of the clubhead, dramatically increasing MOI and forgiveness.

Check out our quick read for a crash course on MOI and learn why MOI is important for your game.

POWER CHANNEL TECHNOLOGY

A further advancement for our GEN5 Irons is the integration of a new under-the-hood design feature – Power Channel Technology.

This proprietary U-shaped corridor built into the internal surface of the face is designed to increase deflection and bend in the top sector. The channel creates face movement and transfers energy to simultaneously increase launch angle, trajectory, and ball speed. Combined with our ultra-thin face technology – the thinnest in the industry – and XCOR2, we were able to enhance the C.O.R. for extreme face deflection and out-of-sight ball speed.

ULTRA-THIN FACE

Since PXG’s inception, our brand has maintained the thinnest face in golf. An industry breakthrough, our ultra-thin face technology continues to deliver unmatched feel and mishit performance.

Combined with our proprietary XCOR2 Technology, GEN5 Irons offer our highest C.O.R. performance ever. Made from high strength HT1770 maraging steel and measuring a mere 0.058″ (~1.55mm) thick.

PRECISION WEIGHTING TECHNOLOGY

GEN5 Irons feature five tungsten heel/toe weights and one large weight located near the CG on the back of the clubhead. The larger weight allows golfers to experience various swing weights during an in-person fitting.

PXG IS SHAPING THE FUTURE OF THE GAME

At our core, PXG is a research and development company. Our commitment to finding

new materials, integrating new technologies, and using a data-driven approach to golf club design translates to real and measurable gains.
