SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (February 15, 2024) – Hot on the heels of its highly-anticipated Black Ops launch, PXG is once again ready to put its money where its mouth is with the official deployment of the Black Ops Driver ChallengeTM. The PXG Black Ops Driver Challenge invites all golf enthusiasts – both PXG Troops® and critics – to bring their current driver to a free fitting for a head-to-head, knockout event. If the PXG® 0311® Black OpsTM Driver is longer in total distance or has a tighter dispersion, PXG wins. If not, PXG will issue a $100 Rewards Card — no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

“Our R&D department has gone above and beyond with these babies, and I’m proud to say PXG Black Ops Drivers stand tall as one of most versatile, high-performing clubs on the market. I’m confident that our new, breakthrough technology will knockout the competition, and if we don’t, I am happy to pony up,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons.

This new challenge follows an incredibly successful 0311® GEN6 Driver Challenge issued last year. The event saw PXG square off against 44 different brands in the hands of more than 2,200 participants. The result was that the 0311 GEN6 Driver came out victorious 93% of the time, beating each and every of the 44 brands it came up against.

“The results of the last driver challenge were very impressive but didn’t surprise us. We’ve always known PXG makes outstanding equipment,” Bob Parsons added.

ARE YOU GAME TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE? HERE’S THE PLAYBOOK:

  • Schedule a free PXG Black Ops Driver Challenge on www.PXG.com or call 844.PLAY.PXG.
  • Bring your current driver to the custom fitting appointment.
  • Once warmed up, the PXG Master Fitter will have you hit five (5) shots with your current driver.
    • Performance data will be captured with a Trackman launch monitor.
    • the three (3) best shots will be selected and recorded.
  • Then, the PXG Master Fitter will conduct a PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver fitting.
  • Once complete, the PXG Master Fitter will have you hit five (5) shots with the PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver.
    • The three (3) best shots will be selected and recorded.
  • Results will be reviewed, and the winning driver will be identified.
    • Fitter will use Average Total Distance (Carry and Roll) to determine the distance-winning driver.
    • Fitter will Side Total (+/-) to determine the dispersion-winning driver.
    • PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver is the winner if either category is better than your current driver.

ABOUT PXG 0311 BLACK OPS DRIVERS

PXG 0311 Black Ops Drivers introduce cutting-edge technologies and new materials that help players of all abilities hit it long and straight with more consistency than ever before. The new AMFTM (Advanced Material Face) Technology optimized with a variable thickness design delivers increased ball speed for more distance. The non-uniform bulge and roll face design refined and manufactured consistently through robotic polishing to strategically adjust the horizontal and vertical curvatures across the face. This supports enhanced forgiveness and improves overall performance by optimizing the club’s reaction to off-center hits.

A new high-strength composite body construction manufactured from high-grade carbon fiber using a sophisticated compression molding process helps improve weight distribution within the clubhead to increase the moment of inertia (MOI) and push the center-of-gravity (CG) lower and further back.

The 0311 Black Ops Drivers are available in two head designs. The Black Ops Driver is geared toward a wide range of players. It presents a high launch, low-spin option that delivers unmatched ball speed, distance, and exceptional forgiveness for optimum performance. The Black Ops Tour-1 Driver is a tour-inspired head design featuring a taller face with a more curved crown to create an aggressive look at address. Engineered to unlock maximum distance with a penetrating ball flight, this driver is geared toward more advanced players seeking outstanding ball speed, distance, and extremely low spin performance.

DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE? SEE WHAT PXG’S CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY:

  • “It’s called Black Ops cause it kills other drivers on the golf course! 🔥” – Customer, Robert R.
  • “I absolutely love that thing! It’s a beast and if you are properly fit by @pxg then it will beat anything out there!” – Customer, Kelly W.
  • “Got fitted for this driver yesterday and have to say it’s the best driver I have ever hit and can’t wait for it to be delivered. This driver is a game changer.” – Customer, Shane O.

PXG Rounds Out Its Elite Player Offerings with New Tour-inspired Driving Iron Technology

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Jan. 30, 2024) – The new PXG® 0317® X Driving Iron is engineered with the elite player in mind. An ideal hybrid alternative or specialty club for extreme courses and conditions, the 0317 X presents a tour-inspired design that significantly boosts moment-of-inertia and increases forgiveness for unmatched distance and accuracy.

“A slick replacement for a wood when the course calls for it, the PXG 0317 X Driving Iron will help you keep it in play even in the most challenging environments,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons.

The PXG 0317 X Driving Iron is triple forged from 8620 soft carbon steel. The forging process creates a tight crystalline grain structure that delivers a pure resonance and an excellent feel at impact. Then, the face and back of the clubhead are precision milled to ensure every surface, curve, and angle are produced to exact specifications. The clubhead, which presents a taller and longer blade length than a traditional player’s iron, then undergoes a precise robotic polishing process to refine the sole and other geometries for a flawless finish and unmatched consistency club to club.

To the best of PXG’s knowledge, no other golf equipment company forges and CNC mills their clubheads. Hit them once and you will know exactly why PXG does it.

PXG’s proprietary XCOR2® material, introduced in the company’s award-winning PXG 0311® GEN6 Irons, backs an ultra-thin clubface. The high-speed resin core is injection molded into the clubhead’s hollow cavity. The material provides structural stability to the face (which, unsupported, would fail with a single hit) and dramatically increases ball speed performance.

One large weight is located near the center of gravity on the back of the clubhead. The Precision Weighting Technology is used to achieve optimal swing weight. Unique to PXG, customers can experience the benefits of these adjustments during an in-person fitting. Weighting is not intended to be adjusted after purchase, unless done by at PXG.

Available now in a chrome finish, the PXG 0317 X Driving Iron has a standard 18-degree loft, similar specs to a 2-iron, but can be easily adjusted stronger or weaker. To learn more or to book a custom golf club fitting, visit pxg.com.

Breakthrough Composite Construction, Face Technology, & Precision Weighting Deliver Incredible Forgiveness and Massive Distance Gains

Scottsdale, AZ (January 11, 2024) – PXG® has released its breakthrough Black OpsTM technology, which offers unparalleled performance without any compromises. This new range of drivers, fairways, and hybrids has been meticulously designed with custom fitting in mind, making them some of the most versatile and high-performing clubs in the industry.

“I have often wondered why golfers are content to give up distance to achieve forgiveness,” said PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons. “We’ve spent much of our R&D efforts focused on that challenge, and I am proud to say … we’ve cracked that nut. Black Ops Woods are straight like an arrow, more forgiving than a priest on Sunday, and absolutely stunning to boot!”

PXG Black Ops Woods introduces cutting-edge technologies and new materials that help players of all abilities hit it long and straight with more consistency than ever before. To achieve these results, the PXG engineering team prioritized exploring material sciences in the research and development process.

PXG Black Ops Drivers deliver significant distance gains by employing a propriety high strength titanium alloy face material called AMFTM (Advanced Material Face) Technology yielding increased ball speed for more distance. This proprietary AMF face design is further optimized with a variable thickness design that helps ensure consistent and efficient energy transfer across various impact points on the clubface. A non-uniform bulge and roll face design, refined and manufactured consistently through robotic polishing, strategically adjusts the horizontal and vertical curvatures across the face. This supports enhanced forgiveness and improves overall performance by optimizing the club’s reaction to off-center hits.

When tested in the PXG GEN6 Driver body, the new Black Ops face delivered noticeable performance gains. Still, PXG’s engineers knew they could achieve even more significant results with a new high-strength composite body construction. Lightweight composite crown and sole inserts are manufactured from high-grade carbon fiber using a sophisticated compression molding process. This helps improve weight distribution within the clubhead to increase the moment of inertia (MOI) and push the center-of-gravity (CG) lower and further back, enhancing launch conditions to create a high launch angle and low spin rate combination produces increased distance performance, and more forgiveness.

“I love the way the new Black Ops Driver looks at set up and the face feels so hot,” PXG PGA Tour Professional Joel Dahmen shared. “Geno is having to figure out yardages he’s never had to figure out before.”

PXG PGA TOUR Professional and Rookie of the Year Eric Cole added the Black Ops Driver to his bag at The RSM Classic, the same week he tested it. He finished T3 and has since won with it. Cole shared, “The new Black Ops Driver is a great blend of forgiveness and speed. Switching to it, I’ve noticed more speed with solid shots, as well as with off-center strikes. It also looks great over the ball, which makes it easy to have confidence in it on tour.”

Natural frequency optimization is also employed to fine-tune the inherent vibration patterns within the clubhead’s structure. This enhances the driver’s feel, sound, and performance upon impact with the golf ball.

By default, Black Ops Drivers present one heavy (12.5 grams) and two light (2.5 grams each) sole weights that are interchangeable to support preferred spin and bias settings. Additional weights are available in 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, and 20-gram options, so every player can easily fine-tune the overall head weight and shot bias. Adjustable weighting can also increase the combined MOI to over 10,000 grams – cm^2.

The Black Ops Driver is available in two very different head designs.

New PXG Black Ops Fairways and PXG Black Ops Hybrids maximize distance and deliver a tight dispersion off the tee or turf. Both introduce a high-strength, stainless steel face that is much thinner – 12.5% thinner in the fairways and 10.5% thinner in the hybrids – and more flexible than its predecessor. Coupled with a squared face design that shifts the perimeter skirt more vertical, increasing the surface area, the new face significantly boosts the forgiveness of the clubhead to deliver faster ball speeds, higher launch, and lower spin.

The Black Ops Fairways and Hybrids crown is made entirely from high-grade carbon fiber. This lightweight material saves mass, allowing it to be redistributed low and to the clubhead’s perimeter for optimal CG positioning and added forgiveness. Mass is further adjusted to support preferred spin and bias settings with PXG’s Precision Weighting Technology.

“I’m enjoying the new Black Ops hybrids; my initial reaction is that they have a softer feel and are nicely forgiving. The heads are a little bigger than the previous model which gives that extra bit of confidence,” PXG LPGA Tour Professional and Major Champion Celine Boutier stated.  “I’m looking forward to getting them in the bag for this season!”

Through rigorous modal analysis testing, PXG has developed an innovative supported weight structure that produces an exceptional sound and feel. With Precision Weighting Technology positioned in the extreme perimeter of the clubhead and anchored to the outer wall, a sophisticated, stiff, and stable structure that generates high-frequency vibrations is created.

The new PXG Black Ops golf clubs are a shining example of the company’s relentless pursuit of performance. Powered by breakthrough technologies and engineered to be custom fitted, PXG Black Ops Drivers, PXG Black Ops Fairways, and PXG Black Ops Hybrids deliver incredible forgiveness and massive distance gains.

PXG PGA TOUR Professional Jake Knapp shared, “To perform under pressure, you have to trust your equipment. Long, forgiving, and accurate – PXG Black Ops checks all the boxes.”

PXG Black Ops are available now in-store, over-the-phone, and online.

PXG LPGA Tour Professional Celine Boutier Conquers the Competition to Win the Maybank Championship

Scottsdale, AZ (October 29, 2023) – PXG LPGA Tour Professional Celine Boutier continued her winning streak with a spectacular victory at the Maybank Championship at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. With eight birdies during her final round, Boutier found herself tied for the lead after 18-holes. The tournament went into a head-to-head nine-hole playoff, tying the record for second-longest playoff in LPGA Tour history. Boutier ultimately came out on top, conquering the competition to clinch the win.

“I feel like my game has been solid this season and was confident if I stayed focused this week, I could earn another win,” PXG LPGA Tour Professional Celine Boutier shared. “Lifting the trophy after playing an additional nine-holes was very overwhelming. I am so proud to celebrate this win with my family, friends, caddie, and the rest of my team – including PXG – who have invested so much to help me pursue my dreams.”

Celine Boutier’s win at the Maybank Champion is her fourth this season. Recently, she won the Amundi Evian Championship and the FREED GROUP Women’s Scottish Open in back-to-back weeks. She also won the LPGA Drive on Championship earlier this year. As a result of her incredible play, Boutier is currently first in the Race to the CME Globe.

“I couldn’t be more proud to have such an accomplished player representing PXG,” said PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons. “Winning four times in a season is truly a remarkable feat and I don’t see her momentum slowing any time soon.
